Microneedling

Who is a Candidate for Microneedling?

Microneedling can be used on all skin types and all skin colors to address a wide range of problems such as fine lines and winkles, acne scars, sagging skin, sun damaged skin, skin rejuvenation, hyper/hypo pigmentation, stretch marks and dark spots.

What Does Microneedling Feel Like?

A microneedling treatment is virtually painless; at most some light pressure can be felt. While some area may feel more sensitive than others, the speed of the reciprocating needle tip reduces discomfort and the applied treatment solution also makes the treatment more tolerable. A mild anesthetic prior to each treatment is applied for added comfort.

What is the Downtime and What Side Effects Should I Expect?

Significant healing takes place within the first 2 hours post treatment and most clients heal completely within 24 hours. However, some sensitive skin may require up to 48 hours. The total healing time depends on the severity of the damaged skin, the depth of repair process required, and how aggressive the treatment is performed. Slight swelling, heat and redness, (like a mild sunburn), is normally observed which may last up to 2 to 3 days in some clients.

When Can I Wear Makeup Following a Microneedling Treatment?

Clients typically can resume with their normal makeup regimen 2 to 3 days following their microneedling treatment.

Can You See a Difference After One Microneedling Treatment?

Yes. Even the first treatment will show some enhancement. Real differences are achieved with monthly facial treatments. Typically a client will notice significant changes after the third treatment. Your esthetician will recommend a series of 3 to 6 treatments.
